Brian Bridges

Brian Bridges is a composer, electronic musician and sound artist, originally from Dublin, but based in Derry for more than a decade. His work spans the worlds of drone, microtonality, modular synthesis, and spatial electroacoustic music and installation practices, and has been featured at festivals in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, including the Beijing Irish New Music Festival, New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, Spectrum (NYC), Spring in Havana, International Music Week (Lüneberg, DE). Irish festivals and concert series include Kontakt at Unit 44, Ergodos Festival, Dublin Electronic Arts Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival and CMC Culture Night. Apart from various academic studies, a key influence is the late New York composer Glenn Branca, with whom he studied privately supported by an Arts Council of Ireland grant.
